Candy melt mermaid tails, with sprinkle scales, and fun candy embellishments, in a fun Snack Pack Juicy Gel cup with Reddi Wip on top! Super cute Mermaid treats, perfect for a summer beach or pool party.
We are officially in summer mode over here. I took my kids camping. They say it was the first time ever. They lie.
My kids seem to think that because when we vacation it typically involves running water, like showers and toilets, they have somehow been severely deprived. We rectified that over the weekend.
We had a great time! A seriously great time. But I think it is safe to say my children will be happy to vacation places with swimming pools, nice restaurants, and hot water for bathing from this point forward.
Now that we got the whole camping (for the record, not glamping) thing settled with the kids, and they now recognize that we have in fact taken them camping, just prefer resorts, we can move on to other parts of our summer- pool time and beach time!
My favorite part of summer is the countless hours spent in the water! When I was a kid, I used to pretend I was a Mermaid. I loved using a “dingle-hopper” to brush my hair, wished my best friend was a crab, and on countless occasions begged my mom to let me wear a sea-shell bra. She always said no.
Oh…that reminds me of a silly joke…
Q: Why do Mermaids wear sea-shells?
A: Because the B-shells are too small, and the D-shells are too big!
Bahahaha, anyway, I wanted to celebrate summer and fun spent at the pool and beach with a fun Mermaid themed party and treats for my kids. I went to Walmart and bought Strawberry SUPER Snack Pack Juicy Gels, which are pink, and then using some melted pink chocolate (candy melts), and a print out of a mermaid tail, I made this darling treat.
The first thing I did was find an image of a Mermaid Tail online. And printed it out. If I was artistic I would have drawn one myself. Unfortunately that is not my forte. But you can skip this step and free-hand your tails. My kids ate my first batch so I had to remake them, and ended up free-handing that set because I was running out of time.
Anyway, I put some candy melts into a plastic bag, and melted them in the microwave. You could use chocolate, or any color candy melt you want.
I put a piece of wax paper over the image, then cut the tip off the bag, and used it to draw the mermaid tail in melted chocolate. I had a popsicle stick or sucker stick over the tail so that I could use it to insert the tail into the Strawberry Snack Pack Juicy Gels and it would stay standing up.
After outlining the tail, I filled it in with chocolate. Then I sprinkled it with fun sprinkles to look like scales, and to add some fun to the tails, and let it set up.
Then I peeled off the wax paper, and placed it into the Juicy Gel with the sucker stick. I used Reddi Wip spray whipped cream to make a “foaming” ocean, and garnished with some cute gummy candies!
Now tell me these aren’t the cutest little Mermaid treats you have ever seen? And wouldn’t they be the cutest thing ever for a Mermaid themed party?

Did you know Snack Pack made Juicy Gels? I thought it was only pudding. I was wrong. They make the Juicy Gels, but they also make these super yummy Pudding Bars, which use real pudding baked inside of them. They rock. And lucky you, you can try them for less because I have linked up a special offer coupon valid from 5/25/2015-7/19/2015: Super Snack Pack Juicy Gel Coupon and New Snack Pack Pudding Bar Coupon.
