French Toast Kabobs

Ingredients

  • 5 pieces of thick white bread
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/3 c cream or 1/2 and 1/2
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 Tbs sour cream
  • 1 Tbs brown sugar
  • A squeeze of lemon juice
  • pinch of salt
  • Fruit of choice: Grapes blueberries, strawberries, bananas (optional)
  • syrup or powdered sugar

Instructions

  • Start by cubing the bread into one inch cubes.
  • Clean and prepare fruit for kabobs (optional)
  • Mix up the eggs, half and half, vanilla, sour cream, brown sugar, lemon juice, and salt. You can use a fork, but you will want to make sure there are not lumps of sour cream.
  • Add bread into bowl stirring thoroughly
  • Prepare a griddle by heating it to about 300 degrees.
  • Cook bread, flipping pieces regularly while browning each side
  • Prepare kabobs by threading fruit, and french toast onto skewers, or just french toast
  • Dust with powdered sugar, or serve with syrup
