Chocolate Souffle (for the home cook)

This is not a recipe for real souffle, but this fake chocolate souffle tastes amazing, is super easy to make, and is perfect for celebrating Valentine's Day!

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces bittersweet chocolate
  • 1/2 cup + 1 Tbs unsalted butter
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 3/4 tsp baking powder
  • a pinch of salt
  • 4 custard cups and non stick spray

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 425
  • Spray custard cups with non-stick spray
  • In a microwave safe bowl microwave for 1 minutes to melt together butter and chocolate,stir well then continue heating in 30 second intervals until chocolate and butter are melted completely
  • Whisk in eggs and sugar.
  • Stir in flour, baking powder, and salt
  • Fill custard cups about 3/4 the way full
  • Bake 16-18 minutes
