Football Stadium Sugar Cookie Bars
Football stadium sugar cookies are fun, festive, and easy to make with a sugar cookie bar recipe, easy frosting, and Skittles to add flavor and fun to your treat.
Sugar Cookie Bars
- 1/2 cup softened butter 1 stick
- 1/4 cup + 2 Tbsp Vegetable oil
- 2/3 cup granulated sugar
- heaping 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 Tbsp water
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 3/4 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/8 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 cup softened butter
- 2 ounces softened cream cheese
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- pinch of salt
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 Tbs vanilla syrup Torani, or milk
- 4-8 drops green food coloring until desired shade is reached
- Skittles original for players and crowd
- white frosting for piping lines of field
- mini Snickers for corners
- 1 Graham cracker for making goal posts
- black frosting for lines
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Spray a 9x13 pan or half size cookie sheet with non-stick spray
In the bowl of a stand mixer, add butter, oil, granulated sugar and powdered sugar, and then mix to cream together.
Add egg, water and vanilla and mix until well combined
Add flour and sprinkle in salt, baking powder and baking soda. Put paddle attachment on mixer, and mix for 1 minute until completely combined, and not sticking to the sides.
Press cookie mixture evenly into prepared pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 14-16 minutes or until edges are light brown.
Let cool completely.
Meanwhile, combine all frosting in a bowl, and using a hand mixer, mix together, add more green food coloring if desired to achieve the color you want.
Frost cooled sugar cookie bars.
Decorate to look like a stadium by putting 4 Snickers mini candy bars in the corners, Skittles Original flavors on the sides to represent the crowd (pick the colors of the teams), and use white frosting to pipe in the lines of the field. Set up your players with skittles of other colors, and then draw play lines with black frosting. Break a graham cracker into 2 pieces, pipe goal posts onto graham cracker halves, and push them into the ends of your "field"
