Creamy Clam Chowder

Creamy Clam Chowder is easy to make and oh so cozy! This homemade version is unbelievably creamy, flavorful, and chockfull of everything you would expect in a cream based chowder!

Ingredients

  • 5 cups diced potatoes
  • 1 cup diced celery
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 26 ounces clams 4 cans, minced
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 pint heavy cream
  • 1 pint milk
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • water as needed

Instructions

  • Combine vegetables with the liquid from the clams cans in a large pot, add water to cover vegetables fully.
  • Cook over medium heat until vegetables are fork tender.
  • In another pan, melt butter, slowly add flour, cream, and milk, stirring well
  • Combine the milk mixture with the vegetable mixture, add clams, salt, sugar, and salt and pepper.
  • Mix it all together.
  • Taste, season as desired.
  • Let simmer 15-20 minutes. serve warm.
