Pecan Pie

A nutty, sweet, and delicious Pecan pie with great depth of flavor from toasted pecans, and no corn syrup. This recipe is the perfect pie for Thanksgiving.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 eggs room temperature
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup pecan halves to add to top
  • 1 unbaked pie crust

Instructions

  • Heat oven to 350 degrees F
  • Toast the chopped pecans for about 12-15 minutes in a 350 F oven, remove and set aside.
  • Turn oven up to 400 degrees F (205 degrees C).
  • Melt butter in a microwave, then add sugars (brown and white) to it and set aside.
  • In a large bowl, beat eggs until foamy, and stir butter mixture.
  • Add the flour; mix well. Last add the milk, vanilla extract and toasted chopped nuts.
  • Pour into an unbaked 9-in pie crust.
  • Top with halved pecans
  • Bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes at 400 degrees, then reduce temperature to 300 degrees and bake for 40 to 50 minutes, or until done.

Warm the eggs to room temp before making this recipe
