Grease and flour an aluminum standard sized loaf pan (8-1/2 x 4-1/2 x 2-1/2 inches)
In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugars.
Add eggs and beat together.
Add mashed bananas, sour cream and vanilla.
Combine well, stirring until everything is incorporated.
Sift in flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
Stir everything together, until just combined. Do not overmix, or your banana bread will be tough.
Pour into greased and floured loaf pan.
Bake at 350º F on middle or lower shelf of the oven for about 60-70 minutes, until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. If bread is browning too quickly, cover with foil for the last 15-20 minutes.
