Ingredients

for the whip cream

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream 35%
  • 1/2 tbsp maple syrup

for the hot chocolate

  • 1.5 cups milk of choice
  • 1 tbsp unsweetened cacao preferably dutch-processed
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon

topping

  • 1 cup sliced almonds
  • 1/8 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  • Whip cream either with an electric hand mixer or stand mixer or even by hand until stiff peaks form. Then add maple syrup and stir well. Set aside.
  • Bring milk to the boil over medium-low heat stirring often in order to avoid from burning to the bottom.
  • Once the first bubbles appear, immediately remove from heat, add cacao and cinnamon and whisk until no lumps are left.
  • Pour chocolate milk into a large cup, add cream either with a spoon or a piping bag.
  • sprinkle crumbled up sliced almonds and some cinnamon on top an enjoy right away.
