Belgian Waffles

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 tsps baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs separated
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 cups 2% or Whole milk
  • 1/2 tsp white vinegar
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Instructions

  • Preheat waffle maker
  • Oil the waffle maker by spraying with non-stick spray.
  • In a large bowl, sift the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar together. Set aside
  • In a separate bowl, add egg whites only, put yolks into a third, large, bowl. Once separated, beat egg whites with hand mixer until stiff peaks form.
  • Mix together the egg yolks, milk, oil, white vinegar, and vanilla, stir slightly.
  • Slowly, add to dry ingredients to the bowl of wet ingredients and mix well.
  • Gently fold in egg whites.
  • Cook in Belgium waffle iron on medium-high heat for around 5-10 minutes until golden brown.
  • Top with whipped cream, fresh berries, and syrup.
