- 8 chicken drumsticks skin-on, about 4 ounces each, 2 pounds total
- 2 Tablespoons olive oil
- 2 Tablespoons Kinder’s Bourbon seasoning
- 2 Tablespoons Hot Honey
- 1 cup BBQ sauce your favorite brand
- 4 Russet potatoes
Preheat and prep. Preheat your oven to 400°F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil or high-heat parchment for easy cleanup. Arrange the drumsticks in a single layer.
Season the chicken. Brush the drumsticks with olive oil, coating all sides. Sprinkle the Kinder’s Bourbon seasoning generously over the chicken until well covered.
Add potatoes. Season potatoes with a little olive oil and salt, and place on one end of the baking tray with the chicken.
Bake until juicy and golden. Bake the drumsticks and potatoes uncovered for about 40 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F when checked with an instant-read thermometer (make sure it’s not touching the bone), and potatoes are soft.
Baste and sauce. Remove the chicken from the oven and use a clean pastry brush to baste each piece with the pan juices. Then coat the drumsticks with Hot Honey and BBQ sauce. Return them to the oven for 5 minutes to set the glaze.
Serve. Let the chicken rest a couple minutes, then dig in. Sticky, glossy, tender perfection.
Check around 30 minutes.
If the tops are browning too quickly, loosely tent the pan with foil and keep baking until fully cooked.
For crispier skin:
Switch the oven to broil for 1–2 minutes after adding the BBQ sauce. Keep a close eye on it.
Meal prep friendly.
These reheat beautifully and taste great cold too.
If potatoes are not soft enough when chicken is done, remove chicken from pan, and let potatoes continue to cook until tender. The cook time for the potatoes varies based on the size of the potato.
