Ultimate Hot Fudge Sauce

A brownie lover's dream nestled into a river of luscious hot fudge sitting atop a New York style cheesecake! Sounds decadent, am I right? Would you believe me if I told you that you could make this in just 10 minutes? And it costs less than half a dozen bakery cupcakes?

Ultimate Hot Fudge Sauce

  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup heavy cream or milk
  • 1/2 Tbs vanilla extract
  • a pinch of salt


  • Stir brown sugar and cocoa powder together in a small bowl, and set aside.
  • In a small sauce pan, over medium-high heat, add unsalted butter and heavy whipping cream together, and bring to a soft boil.
  • Let boil for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Stir in brown sugar and cocoa powder mixture and whisk until smooth.
  • Remove from heat, add vanilla and salt.
  • Whisk, and let sit a minute to thicken.
  • Enjoy!


Heavy whipping cream is best, but this ultimate hot fudge sauce is also great with milk, so just make it!
This hot fudge sauce will keep up to a week in the refrigerator in an airtight container.
