Turtle Pound Cake Trifle
A turtle pound cake trifle that you can whip up in minutes, and will be the star of the show at any party or gathering.
I recently held a girl’s night at my house. I invited some friends, and prepared a variety of foods. But did not make any dessert. I just got too busy. Big mistake. A house full of ladies and no chocolate to speak of? What!!
Haha, anyway, about half an hour before the party I realized my error, and so I borrowed a trifle dish from my neighbor, and threw together this amazing Turtle Pound Cake Trifle.
You guys, it was so good. But I can’t take all the credit. Luckily for me, I had a Sara Lee All-Butter Pound Cake—Family Size sitting in my freezer. I whipped up some chocolate pudding, and got out everything I needed to assemble this amazing dessert. It was so ridiculously easy to make I am not even sure I can call it a recipe. But yum!
I am all for anything that makes get togethers, parties, and special occasions simpler, and tastier. This is one of the reasons I love Sara Lee frozen desserts. They can be enjoyed ‘as-is’ or you can easily customize and really amp them up, like I did with the Sara Lee All-Butter Pound Cake.
And it really was so easy to make such an impressive dessert:
I gathered my ingredients: Caramel sauce, pretzels, pecans, Sara Lee Pound Cake, chocolate pudding, whipped cream!
Then I cut the pound cake into cubes and put it in the bottom of my trifle dish. The idea is to layer the ingredients!
Then I added some chocolate pudding and chopped pecans.
Which I followed up with pretzels, caramel, more pound cake, whipped cream, and some garnish!

I made this for my family Christmas party and it was awesome!! It was so festive and beautiful, people didn’t want to scoop into it! We did though and it tasted as good as it looked! I added some green and red sprinkles to the top to give it a festive Christmas feel! I’m making it again tomorrow to take to a dinner party! Thank you for the recipe!

This Turtle Pound Cake Trifle looks amazing; however, I see Calories 4438 kcal (gasp!). I assumed that calorie count was for the whole trifle – but I didn’t see any other information to help me calculate an individual serving (calories, size). Unfortunately, I had to find another recipe with more detailed Nutrition information to bring for Christmas.. I still would like to make this Turtles Trifle if additional info indicates we could have a serving as a treat (without it killing us due to existing medical issues.
Could you confirm that 4438 kcal is for the whole trifle ?
How many people should this trifle serve and portion size ?
Thank you
