Spider Web Soup

Ingredients

  • Your favorite tomato-based soup taco soup, chili, or tomato bisque
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing or sour cream
  • 1 squeeze bottle
  • Plastic spiders for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the Soup:

  • Make a batch of your favorite tomato-based soup. Follow your go-to recipe for taco soup, chili, or tomato bisque, and ladle the soup into serving bowls.

Fill the Squeeze Bottle:

  • Pour the ranch dressing or sour cream into a squeeze bottle. Make sure the consistency is smooth; you may need to thin it slightly with milk or water if using sour cream.

Create the Spider Web:

  • Starting in the center of the soup, draw three concentric circles with the ranch dressing or sour cream using the squeeze bottle.
  • Use a toothpick or knife to gently drag lines from the center of the circles to the outer edge, creating a spider web design.

Add the Spider:

  • Place a plastic spider on top of the soup, right in the middle of the web. This will add a festive and spooky touch to your dish. Just be sure to remove it before eating!

Serve and Enjoy:

  • Serve your Spider Web Soup immediately while it's hot. Pair it with some crusty bread or garlic twists for a complete meal.

Notes

For a thicker web: If your soup is very hot, the sour cream or ranch may spread. Allow the soup to cool slightly before piping the web.
Flavor variations: Add a dash of smoked paprika or hot sauce to your soup for extra flavor.
Garnish: Sprinkle some fresh chopped herbs or shredded cheese for added texture and taste.
