Blueberry Pineapple Fruit Salsa is sweet and tasty, but has a nice little kick of heat. I love a strawberry salsa, or any other kind of fruit salsa, but this blueberry and pineapple salsa blows them all away.
One reason I love this Blueberry Pineapple Fruit Salsa is it has the fruit element of fruit salsa: pineapple and blueberries. Then it has traditional salsa elements: cilantro, red onion, jalapeño. Then a few fun twists: yellow pepper, and a great little lime dressing to tie it all together! You NEED this in your life.

Oh my gosh, you guys are going to go crazy for this fruit salsa. And the star of the show…blueberries! Aren’t these blueberries gorgeous? They are fresh from Florida!
This summer I will be spending about a week in Anna Maria Island, Florida, and one of the things I am most excited about is the warm weather cooking, and a plate full of colorful, locally grown foods. Especially things like sweet corn, watermelon, seafood, and these gorgeous, plump blueberries! Can you just imagine this blueberry salsa over a piece of freshly caught and grilled fish? Me too! Mouth. Watering.
This salsa is perfection. It is good with chips, on top of chicken or fish, or you could just eat it with a spoon. The key is great produce. I started with Fresh From Florida blueberries because I knew they would be good. The Florida Department of Agriculture guarantee fresh and delicious food. And they really take that guarantee seriously, if these blueberries are any indication.
I played with this recipe a lot to get the heat right. It is tricky because you never know how hot or mild the jalapeño you get will be. But I found this combination of fruit and pepper is really great most of the time. If you have a really hot jalapeño you may want to add extra blueberries and pineapple to help tame the heat. I like my fruit salsa to have a little kick, otherwise it might as well be jam. I also added some Sriracha to the lime dressing because if the jalapeño is too mild it is a nice way to add just a touch of that sweet heat to every bite!
I love the new food trend of buying local, and farm to kitchen. And I think it is super cool the Florida Department of Agriculture is supporting getting their best commodities to the consumers in a fresh and flavorful way!
And you can bet I will be buying plenty of the freshest ingredients this summer. What are some of your favorite ingredients to purchase fresh during the summer?
Whatever is on the list, make sure fresh blueberries from Florida and all the ingredients for this Blueberry Pineapple Fruit Salsa make it to the top! You will not regret it. I should not confess this, but I made a great big bowl, and ate it all by myself. I ate it on top of chicken. I ate it with an entire bag of chips. I picked a few pieces out with my fingers and popped them in my mouth without any type of vehicle. It wasn’t needed.
So go ahead, take a scoop full, or a spoon full, or on a protein. But no matter what you do, please, for the love of all things delicious, try this recipe!
This the perfect party food! It is fresh, it is fun, it is summery. And it will make your tastebuds sing.
