I am dying to know what new foods you all tried.

Please share on Instagram or Facebook! Or leave a comment to tell me about your adventures in new foods.

Are you still keeping a food journal?

How is the resisting of that ONE temptation going? Are you ready for a new challenge for a healthier you?

Mini Challenge: Skip the Salt

For today’s challenge I want you to try not to use salt. At all. Instead, for today, season your foods with spices.

Most Americans eat more salt than they need to. I am not a doctor, so be sure to talk to your health care professional, but in many cases reducing salt and sodium can help with weight loss, lower blood pressure, and so much more.

The problem I see is that a lot of foods have hidden sodium, so when you then add table salt to your meal prep and cooking, you are just getting even more. The best way to eat less salt is to just stop adding it to your food when cooking.

But what about flavor?

I use salt. In fact, I love garlic salt. But there are so many great ways to enhance flavor with other spices. Need a little help? Check back later this week for a spicy salmon rub!
