Today’s post is sponsored by Daisy Brand, but my love for their Daisy Cottage Cheese is all my own! Thank you Daisy Brand for keeping content free for my readers. #Daisydifference

A 5 minute healthy breakfast that is clean eating at its finest, with plenty of protein and packed with flavor.

Okay, so you made it through Halloween, you had the perfect candy bowl, spooky snacks, and now you are feeling the whole sugar coma part of the holiday.

So let’s talk about something healthy, but still delicious. Pears with cottage cheese! Do not judge! It really is so good! Plus it is packed with protein and full of flavor.

cottage cheese stuffed pearsWhen I was a kid my mom would can pears every year, and we would eat them all winter long. And we would put a big heaping scoop of cottage cheese in the center, and then sprinkle on some cheddar cheese.

We loved it.  But these days I like to eat mine a little differently. I love it with fresh pears, rather than canned, and then I take it up a notch with some killer granola, and a honey lime sauce that adds just the right flavor to make me one happy eater!

pears with daisy cottage cheeseI like to use Daisy Low Fat Cottage Cheese 2% because it has no additives and preservatives, or added growth hormones, which isn’t true for most other brands.

If you have been reading my blog for a while, you may know healthy eating is not my total focus, rather easy homemade, but I do think when it is easy to make a healthier choice, why not? I love feeding my kids foods I can feel good about! And this is definitely one of them.

Daisy Cottage Cheese is a great source of protein, and it is low calorie! Just 90 calories, 4 grams of carbs, and 13 grams of protein per ½ cup serving of 2%! It is the low-fat option but is still 100% natural, (it is made up of cultured skim milk, cream, salt, vitamin A plamitate, so only 4 ingredients), and you don’t have to give up the creamy, delicious taste you want with cottage cheese.

Plus it is from a great company, which always makes me happy. Daisy Brand is a 4th generation family-owned dairy business. I am all about family, so this gets a big thumbs up from me! And they really want to make high quality, clean, foods with limited ingredients. In 2007 they created an innovative processing technique that allowed them to launch their all-natural Daisy Brand Cottage Cheese.
