Well my friends, I have finally done it–I have found the perfect snack mix combination that literally every single person in my family loved! Do you know how hard it is to get 6 people with wildly different taste buds to agree on a single snack mix? Well, this one is not just full of classic flavors, and super simple to throw together, it is also a huge win for everyone in my family. It has some sweet treat, it has some fun, it has some nostalgia, it has some health, and is the perfect combination of salty and sweet. To say it disappeared quick is an understatement. Neapolitan Snack Mix with a FLIPZ base and chocolate nuts, and strawberries So how did this snacking genius come about? As you may or may not know, we recently moved. We bought my parent’s house, and they moved out of state. It has been a whirl wind, trying to help them move, and get our things moved at the same time. And amidst all the crazy, we decided we had to go check out their new digs, so you know what that means… Road trip!!! Due to the extreme circumstances of running a business, moving, and helping my parent’s move, not to mention having my kids out of school, I was feeling a little tapped, and knew I wouldn’t be making homemade road trip snacks. But I wanted something that would be delicious, satisfying, and hit my must haves. Mainly that it have some fun, some flavor, some staying power, and be at least a little bit good for you. I was shopping with my sister and she mentioned how much she loved neapolitan. And that is when inspiration struck! Neapolitan Snacking Mix of pretzels, nuts, and fruit! We love taking FLIPZ®  on summer road trips, and they are often our snack of choice, but I wanted to take these tasty covered pretzels, and combine them with other fun snacks to make the perfect trip mix! Sometimes when we road trip I use snack mixes to help the kids stay occupied and have fun during the long drive. We play games where they can only eat a certain ingredient in the mix if they see a license plate that starts with a specific letter. Or if they spot a landmark, etc. Neapolitan Snack Mix using vanilla flipz, chocolate covered cashews, and freeze dried strawberries To make this the most epic family road trip ever I made jars for each kid. They got to eat a different part of the snack mix based on the animals they saw during the drive. We were driving to rural Idaho where there is a lot of wildlife to spot. From ground squirrels to skunks, to deer and elk. The kids were engrossed with looking out the windows to find the animals, and loved being the first to spot an animal that meant they could eat part of their snack mix. We were caravanning with my sister and her husband, and did a few car swaps with kids, so even my niece and nephew got in on the fun for a few minutes. Flipz pretzel snack mix The kids never got bored of the games we made up while driving, and I never got bored of the flavors, as the unique taste of FLIPZ®  Covered Pretzels offer the perfect combination of salty and sweet, the dried strawberries were light and tart, and the nuts offered some extra crunch. Freeze dried strawberries, chocolate covered nuts, and Flipz birthday cake covered pretzels To keep it easy, I pre-mixed the ingredients, and just put them back into the FLIPZ®  bag so when the kids needed a refill it would be eazy peazy! I have been sharing road trip photos on SnapChat, Twitter, and Instagram! So be sure to check those out, and share your own road trip photos for a chance to win cool prizes from FLIPZ®. Are you going on any fun road trips this summer?
