Peanut Butter Toast
Peanut butter toast is a classic favorite that never goes out of style. It’s quick, easy, and incredibly versatile, making it the perfect go-to snack or breakfast option. Today, we’ll explore two delightful variations of peanut butter toast that combine the creamy goodness of Jif peanut butter with bananas and chocolate, or crunchy slices of almonds and bittersweet chunks of dark chocolate.
Pair it with a Blueberry Mango Smoothie or Iced Vanilla Latte for a fun breakfast.
I am a believer in making life easier on yourself. This is why I do Freezer Meal Cooking Days. And so having easy breakfast options is amazing. I use the Prepear app to meal plan often, so I can skip the chaos of not knowing what to fix. Or I use this awesome Meal Planner.
These past few weeks we have had a lot of chaos. Well, I guess I should say these past few years. Life is crazy. Times are busy. Kids are demanding. Jobs are demanding. And so are stomachs. At least mine is. It demands food, every day! Gosh darn it. Why??? Haha I am joking. Food is one of the best and most enjoyable parts of the day, however, most mornings, I wake up already feeling behind. By the time I think about breakfast it is lunch time. This is why I love really easy breakfast options like a great piece of toast with a nice spread on it, and a few extras!
I am currently obsessed with the Jif spreads! They have Jif Cinnamon Peanut Butter and Jif Maple Peanut Butter! And that makes me very peanut butter happy.
How to Make Peanut Butter Toast
Ingredients
- Base Ingredients:
- Bread of your choice (whole grain, sourdough, or your favorite)
- Jif peanut butter (creamy or crunchy) or almond butter
- Banana Chocolate Variation:
- 1 banana, sliced
- Chocolate chips or chocolate shavings
- Sliced almonds
- chunks of chocolate
- Almond Dark Chocolate Variation:
- Sliced almonds
- Bittersweet dark chocolate chunks
Instructions
- Toast the Bread: Start by toasting your bread to your desired level of crispiness. Whole grain and sourdough bread work particularly well for a hearty and flavorful base.

- Add Your Toppings:
- Banana Chocolate Variation:
- Arrange the banana slices evenly over the peanut butter.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips or shavings on top. For an extra indulgent touch, you can lightly melt the chocolate in the microwave before drizzling it over the bananas.
- Almond Dark Chocolate Variation:
- Sprinkle sliced almonds over the peanut butter for a satisfying crunch.
- Add chunks of bittersweet dark chocolate. You can also melt the chocolate slightly for a richer flavor.
- Banana Chocolate Variation:
- Serve and Enjoy: Serve your peanut butter toast immediately to enjoy the perfect combination of flavors and textures.
They also have other nut butters and spreads, and I have got to tell you, they are pretty amazing on toast! My current favorite combo is either the Jif Cinnamon Peanut Butter with banana slices and chocolate bits, or the Almond Butter Spread with slivered almonds and chunks of dark chocolate! AMAZING! And takes like 3 minutes to throw together for a totally delicious breakfast. My kids almost feel like they are eating dessert!
Tips and Tricks
- Bread Choice: Experiment with different types of bread to find your favorite combination. Multigrain, rye, and even gluten-free options can offer unique flavors and textures.
- Peanut Butter: While Jif peanut butter is a classic choice, you can also try natural or flavored peanut butter for a different twist.
- Toppings: Get creative with your toppings! Add a sprinkle of sea salt, a drizzle of honey, or even a handful of granola for extra crunch and flavor.
