If you want a cake that is unassuming but really packs a punch, this is it! It looks like nothing special, but it is moist, rich, and delicious. It has a subtle sweetness, and a thick, creamy ricotta bottom layer that makes this one of our extended family favorites. My mom got this recipe from an Italian friend. And let me tell you, we make it too much! I serve it with fresh whipped cream, or vanilla greek yogurt, and fresh cut strawberries, but it is good on its own too. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
