Hey everyone! I’m Alli and I’m the creator behind Tornadough Alli. I specialize in fast fix family favorites that are budget friendly, kid friendly and most of all whip up in no time! I’m so happy to be sharing at Rachael’s today to show you something that I think you all will enjoy! Strawberries and Cream Donuts!
Now let’s get down to business. Donuts = HEAVEN in my book. My husband calls me the donut queen, I push these bad boys out of the kitchen more often than not. They are one of the most versatile breakfast/desserts around, and wouldn’t you know it…super simple to make, which doesn’t help in my addiction what-so-ever!
Simple is key here, the batter is so customizable that you can pretty much add in whatever mix-ins your little heart desires! Candy bars? Fruit? Coconut? They would all taste absolutely amazing in these donuts.
Now unlike a traditional donut, these little hand held treats are baked and not fried! No hot oil here, just a nice hot oven and a few minutes is all it takes to create something great, and tasty to say the least.
It’s also really easy to get the kids in the kitchen with you to help with these! My kid’s love to pour, stir and try to slyly remove the batter from the bowl and spread it all over my countertops…please don’t tell me I’m the only one who has had that issue? No? Good!
These are a one bowl mixture, how much easier can that get? If easy recipes are your favorite like me, why not check out this and this! Some super simple, yet tasty creations that you can make this summer!
Ok moving on! Add all your dry ingredients, give it a little stir, add your wet ingredients and another stir…and ta-da, you’re done! Well, minus the glaze…in my opinion that is the best part!
Bake these puppies up in a 400 degree oven for about 10 minutes and they come out with just the right color of golden brown with hints of the strawberries popping through.
There is just something about the smell of freshly cooked donuts that makes this girl swoon. You know how smell is somehow connected to memories? Well I think this is connected to when I was a kid and we would make these “special occasion” trips to the bakery and they would have all these fresh decorated donuts in the display cases and what kid didn’t have their face plastered up to that case? I know I was that kid, so donut smell = divine happiness.
Now comes the best part, mix up your glaze and give these delightful treats a dip to coat them up nicely, let them sit for a few minutes and dip again. No skimping on glaze is allowed, like I said it is the best, and my most favorite part! Plus, it gives these donuts a nice contrast in color, especially with the additional strawberries added in.
So if you have a few extra minutes in your day, I urge you to whip up a batch of these Strawberries and Cream Donuts. Whether you have them for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert….or like me a midnight snack, they will perk you up, make you happy and give you an awesome flavor burst!

I love that this batter is so easy to adapt AND that you suggested coconut. I’m feeling like I need to give these a try as soon as I’m settled in Texas!
