It is basketball watching season at our house, and that means lots of viewing parties complete with a spread worthy of a crowd. You may remember from yesterday’s post that I have been a tad busy and overwhelmed lately, what with a kid who needs lots of extra academic attention, a family of 6 to pack and move, and a full time job. So I needed a party plan that was quick, easy, and tasty.
That is why I love Delimex products. They are traditional Mexican favorites like taquitos, rolled tacos, and tamales, that come ready to heat and serve. They taste great, and are easy to amp up with dips, sauces, and toppers, and are the perfect game day food and for serving at parties.

Today I want to share 3 awesome recipes I use along with my Delimex Mexican dishes, to put together a fun, delicious, celebration spread in just 15 minutes. Each of these dips and sauces only takes about 5 minutes to make, which means along with the premade Delimex frozen products, they are quick, easy, and tasty!
I start by getting my Delimex taquitos on a baking tray and in the oven. Then I make my sauces:
A cowboy caviar that is not only full of healthy ingredients but is sure to be a crowd favorite.
Get the recipe HERE for Cowboy Caviar.
A blender salsa that you will want to drink! And that you can make super easily.
Get the recipe HERE for blender salsa.
A creamy tomatillo avocado dip that is just the right blend of creamy flavor!
Find the recipe at the bottom of the post!
One of the things I really love about these sauces and dips is they are so different from each other, but use a lot of overlapping ingredients. It is just so fun.
Watch this video of how I put all 3 together while my Delimex taquitos were baking:
Then it is time to set up the party. For this party I decided to play up some of the basketball terminology by making a “Slam Dunk” station for dunking the crunchy, tasty, taquitos. And a “High Top” station for topping the corn husk wrapped tamales. I made cute chalk board signs, and used some stickers I picked up while buying my Delimex products at Walmart to decorate. A fun banner and lots of orange also helped tie it all together and give us that fun basketball theme I was going for.
And because we just love the authentic Mexican flavors I thought it would be really fun to serve them with some Mexican soda and Horchata, chips, and other family favorites dressed up for basketball season. Isn’t this basketball chip bag cute? Watch for the Horchata recipe next week! It is a good one and compliments these perfectly.
Then I just had to turn on the game and let everyone know the grub was ready! It was a real success, and thanks to the Delimex products I only had to spend a few minutes in the kitchen and could actually enjoy watching a little bit of basketball myself. So be sure to print your coupon then head to Walmart and pick yours up so you can do the same! You can find them in the freezer section, or the open case refrigerated area.
