Easy Beef and Broccoli
An easy to make, way better than take out, insanely delicious beef and broccoli!
You guys! I can’t tell you just how much I love beef and broccoli. I don’t make it nearly enough, but it is certainly a family favorite, and so easy to make. Remind me why I don’t make it more often…oh yeah, because I have to keep creating new recipes for the bliggity blawg. But trust me, this one makes the “cut” and will be made over and over in our house. Which is saying a lot since food bloggers rarely eat the same things over and over.
But the amazing flavors, and downright ease of making this is what puts it on our regular dinner rotation. In fact, it is so easy I HAD to SHOW you. So I made this little video. Check it out!
One of the things that made this one of the easiest ever beef and broccoli recipes is the knives I used! I know, it sounds insane, but really, the worst part of making beef and broccoli for me is having to hack and saw my way through the beef to get those thin and amazing strips for the beef and broccoli. With the Calphalon knives, particularly the 7″ Santoku, it was seriously like slicing butter. I kept trying to make it harder than it is, which you can see in the video. I had to pull the beef apart to make sure it was cut through. And it was!
Can I gush about these knives for a minute more? I got the whole set, and I love every knife. I used the pairing knife to make those Mini Muffin Tin Salted Caramel Apple Pies the other day, and it was so easy (Check out the video for it to see just how easy it was)!
You guys, I thought I had great knives, until I used these. And maybe it is that they are brand new, but that is the beauty of this set. They come with “SharpIN Technology” which means they will seem like new every time I use them. What is SharpIN technology? It is ceramic sharpeners that are built into the slots of the stainless steel part of each storage block to automatically sharpen knives with every use. How amazing is that? No dangerous sharpening it yourself, just put it in the block, and it will come out sharp!
This means that you get effortless slicing, even in a marbled cut of meat like the skirt steak I used for this yummy recipe. Honestly, I can’t think of a single kitchen that couldn’t benefit from these high-carbon, stainless steel knives. They are comfortable to hold and easy to use, and come in 3 different sets to fit your needs.
