Summer is in full swing. The best part about Summer other than late nights, lake days, and bonfires are that we are able to use our grill as often as we like. Being from Minnesota unfortunately we have to put the grill away during the Winter months, but that doesn’t stop us from whipping up our favorite burgers and brats!
Probably like the majority of people, burgers are something that we grill up most often. When I want to switch it up, chicken burgers are a great alternative option to beef! They are so moist and tender and the perfect dish when you are looking for amazing flavor but something a little different than the norm!
These Grilled Pineapple Chicken Teriyaki Burgers are crazy simple and have flavor for days! The kick from the Pepper Jack cheese and the sweetness from the teriyaki sauce is a match made in heaven! All you need are a few ingredients and you’re set to have yourself a quick, easy and delicious meal! This cucumber salad makes the perfect appetizer or side to this burger.
My husband is a sauce making freak, so we used homemade teriyaki sauce but you can use any of your favorite bottled versions that are conveniently found in your local grocery store! Pop some pineapple rings right on the grill alongside your burgers to bring out their natural sweetness.
We baste our burgers while they are on the grill to ensure that perfect teriyaki flavor that will be soaked right in from the tenderness of the ground chicken! Layer with some spicy Pepper Jack, add a little crisp lettuce and drizzle with even more teriyaki sauce and that’s all it takes to make these easy, tender Grilled Pineapple Chicken Teriyaki Burgers, your new Summertime fave!
Grilled Pineapple Chicken Teriyaki Burgers
Ingredients
- 1 1/4 lb ground chicken
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- Salt and Pepper
- 4 pineapple rings
- 4 slices Pepper Jack cheese
- Bottled Teriyaki sauce
- Lettuce
- 4 Buns
Instructions
- Pre-heat your grill to medium high heat.
- In bowl combine your ground chicken, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper and mix together until combined.
- Shape your chicken into 4 patties.
- Add about 2/3 cup Teriyaki sauce to small bowl, set aside.
- Place patties and pineapple rings on grill.
- Baste your patties with teriyaki sauce on side face up, cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, when you flip baste other side with teriyaki sauce. Turn a few more times to re-coat your patties.
- Turn your pineapple once grill marks start to appear.
- Place sliced cheese on each of your patties until melted, remove from grill.
- To assemble, top your bottom bun with lettuce if desired, then add your chicken burger, top with pinapple ring and drizzle with a little more teriyaki sauce.
- Serve and enjoy!
