Sliders sure to be the super hero at any party, and a party plan to celebrate the release of the upcoming MARVEL’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron! movie.
I am so excited to share this party with you today. I had the best time putting it together, planning all the little details, and of course inviting family and friends to celebrate the soon to be released movie: The Avengers: Age of Ultron!
There are a lot of movies in the Avengers series: Iron Man 1, 2, & 3; Captain America 1 & 2, Thor 1 & 2, The Incredible Hulk, and The Avengers! I thought it would be fun to re-watch them and catch back up before the newest movie comes out.
I knew we wouldn’t be able to watch them all in one day, so we have had a progressive movie marathon at home, and decided to top it off with a party to watch The Avengers and celebrate our favorite things about the movie series to prepare for the next movie! There were so many little details I had forgotten…and speaking of little details, that is what made this party so much fun!
We had the movie, food, fun, and games. And we invited lots of friends and family to join in the fun. We originally planned the party to be outside. Then in snowed. So the whole party changed, but it was still a blast!
Food
Of course the food was key for my enjoyment, but I wanted to keep things rather simple! Who wants to do a lot of work when people are coming over? Not me!

When I was shopping at Walmart for the party I saw all kinds of fun Avengers themed food products, so I picked up some Cheez-It baked snack crackers, The Avengers branded Dr Pepper products, Doritos and Kellogg’s Fruit Snacks. And created a really fun menu to keep tummies full and super heroes fueled for adventure and action without causing too much work for me!
Avengers Assemble Nacho and Potato Bar
With a crowd from adults to kids I find it is always a good idea to offer the “build your own” option, so we had BBQ shredded chicken, nacho cheese, jalapenos, sour cream, and other nacho toppings. We also had a baked potato bar with cheese, broccoli, and bacon.
Super Hero Sliders
They were easy and delicious. And another thing to customize and assemble. The kids used food spray to make the buns more fun, and cookie cutters to cut stars out of the cheese! Find the recipe below.
Hulk Hydration Station
I found Avengers Cherry Dr. Pepper, so we stuck it on ice with some water bottles and a dispenser of lemon water, and reminded everyone to hydrate.
Black Widow Bites
The main dishes were delicious, but we served them up with some Avengers Cheez-Its, Avengers Doritos, Hulk green salad, fresh fruits, fresh veggies, fries and tater tots.
Thor’s Smashing S’mores
You guys, I originally planned this party to be outside. Then in snowed. The snow was a big problem, totally threw off my party plans. Snow covered yard meant snow covered fire pit, so instead, I made a big bowl full of s’mores trail mix, which involved mini marshmallows, milk chocolate chips, and graham cracker cereal. It was a hit, especially during the movies.
Activities
Originally we had planned to set up our yard with some Avengers themed fun, playing on the characters in the movies. I had everything planned to perfection. Then it snowed.
Loki’s Lawn Games
We were planning to play Hulk Smash Spike Ball, Thor’s Hammer Croquet, Hawkeye Lawn Dice, Black Widow Boccee, and Captain America Frisbee! But it snowed! So instead we set up Hulk Smash Spike Ball inside, and played “Loki’s board games” instead of lawn games.
Falcon’s Flight School
We hoped to offer flying lessons on the trampoline, but we moved inside and had a paper airplane making station instead.
Hawkeye’s Target Practice
Every super hero needs to hone his or her skills, so target practice is a must. We originally rented a laser tag system, and planned to set it up in the yard. But the snow…again. So we set up some targets in a bedroom and let the kids throw stuff at them. Haha!
Hero Making
Captain America’s Cookie Trimming
We let everyone explore their Super Hero Side with a sugar cookie shield decorating station where each person got to create their own character to become a Marvel superhero. We used Captain America’s shield as a great example of what the kids could do. They gobbled those cookies up!
What’s Your Hero Image? Stark’s Alter Ego Photo booth
I knew I would be way too busy during the party to get many pictures, and I love to remember my guests, so we set up a photo booth with fun props so guests could enjoy capturing their alter ego! I stuck a camera on a tripod, and set up some lighting, and let the guests have fun with the props!
The Movie
And of course, we enjoyed the movie, complete with theater candy and popcorn, because what kind of movie marathon party would it be without movie theater buttered popcorn and candy?
We had such a good time!
We had a blast preparing for The Avengers: Age of Ultron movie release! And I loved putting together a party plan that came together so well, but did not take a ton of work. Did you notice all the neat signs I had for each activity/station at my party? Aren’t they awesome? My sister made them for me on her Silhouette, saving me hours of work. She is amazing! I love how creative she is, and how awesome she is at designing stuff, and that she was willing to help me out in a pinch! Family is the best. Just don’t tell Thor and Loki that!

My son and I have been having a progressive movie “Marathon” every weekend leading up to this week. I love your ideas and I”m so sorry that it snowed. It looks like you guys had a fun time anyway? Maybe? Yes? Maybe when Age of Ultron comes to Blu-Ray you can have another party and move it outdoors. 🙂 #client
