Crunchy, sweet, salty, chewy, delicious, monster munch!! Perfect for Halloween, or really anytime.
This past summer I took my kids on a really long, really fun road trip. We went all over the US. We visited 20 states in a 32 day time period. And we had a fantastic time.
One of our stops was in Orlando, FL where we got to visit Disney World. It was our first visit to Disney World, and we had a great time.
Can you tell how excited this one is? She was not alone in her enthusiasm.
To be honest, when we first got there, it was a little overwhelming. We have been to Disneyland several times, and have our plan of action down pat, but Disney World is so big, and there are just so many things to do, see, and EAT!!! I didn’t know where to start.
So we started with Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor®! It was awesome. And I think it may have been the absolute perfect start to the day. We giggled and laughed our way through the interactive show, and it made me very excited for a day of magic with my kids!
I created this Monster Munch as a fun reminder of our fun Disney World trip. We have Mike Wazowski eye balls, monster muddy buddies, and caramel popcorn. Throw in some chocolate, some candy corn, some pretzel sticks. You get everything you want from a snack mix, from sweet to salty, to chocolate, and more.
I knew I wanted to share a post about our trip to Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, but I couldn’t decide what food I wanted to share it with. You guys, we ate so much good food during this trip. It was impossible to decide. Churros? Dole Whip? Turkey legs?
We enjoyed some character dining at The Crystal Palace. Holy cow! You guys, it was expensive, but it was also seriously yummy. The buffet was full of delicious foods, from flank steaks and salmon, to mac and cheese and corn dogs. It offered a great variety, and amazing desserts too! All the food we ate was amazing.
And let’s not forget the characters. My youngest was really excited…at first…but then when the various characters came to our table, she was terrified. It took oven an hour to get her to let me hold her next to the characters.
Anyway, rather than do a copycat recipe, which I LOVE, and have a few on my site already, I decided to go with something original that would remind me of the trip! This easy monster munch mix is perfect. Plus, it is totally something I think would rock for taking with you to Disney World to munch on while you wait in lines. And it has some chocolate, but not in a way that would get messy and melty in the heat!
How great would this be for munching while visiting? Especially in those long lines to see the Princesses! Which by the way, was totally worth it because my little princess immediately went up to them all and hugged them, and talked to them about doing their hair, and talking to animals. As much as she was terrified of the characters, she was in love with the princesses.
And in true Disney fashion, the princesses were perfect, and made her feel like the most important person in the room.
Basically we had an amazing time. I will be sharing my tips for getting the most out of your Disney World trip over on TravelParentEat.com in the next couple weeks.
But until then! Enjoy this delicious monster munch, and start planning a day of fun!
I wish I could narrow down what the most fun was. But truthfully, we pretty much loved it all, from the parades, to the rides, to the character experiences, and the food! We had a blast, especially the little one. By the end of the day she was zonked, but even asleep she wouldn’t put her Minnie Mouse down! I call that a win.
Okay, let’s get to the recipe.

I may do a “make your own monster munch” as an activity at a fall kids’ birthday part. What do you think?
Rachael says
I think that is the perfect idea for kids and fun! Thanks for sharing. I will probably do the same.

Can anyone help me to understand what a “batch of cookie muddy buddy’s” are? Are they pre-made and purchase where or is this something that must be made? Sorry, I have no clue or idea as to what that is. This would be a perfect “treat” for my grandsons as well as co-workers. Thank you in advance for anyone’s help.
Rachael says
Yes they are usually pre-made, but you can also make muddy buddies yourself.
