The turkey is made up of a variety of different parts of meat. When comparing turkey legs to other parts of meat, it is definitely one of the healthier parts.
You could argue that the breast is still the healthiest part due to the fact that it is made of white meat where turkey legs consist of dark meat. However, dark meat does have its health value.
While dark meat has more saturated fat than white meat, which is not good, it contains more vitamins and minerals than white meat, making the turkey leg a strong contender.
No matter what portion of the turkey you choose to eat, remember that turkey legs and breast are healthier than other portions.
Also, remember that the skin adds a lot of fat to the turkey. By just removing the skin, you are helping the piece of turkey be a lot healthier.
