Fall is almost here, but not quite yet, so I am combining one of the things I love about fall–Pumpkin! With one of the things I love about the warmer weather–Milkshakes! And boy oh boy am I glad I did.
I made a big batch of Pumpkin Ice Cream, using the same base I use for S’mores Ice Cream and Raspberry Nutella Swirl Ice Cream, and so I had to make a milkshake with it!
This milkshake is like drinking pumpkin pie through a straw! And what better way to drink pie through a straw than with an amazing straw? Wait! What? How can a straw be amazing? That was my thoughts too. Until I received a package of #Ecoatheart Stainless Steel straws. And now I stand corrected. Here is what you should know about Eco at Heart Straws:
What I Love
The size: These straws offer a wide gauge, 3/8″so that you can drink even the thickest milkshake or smoothie through it.
It is Eco Friendly: I want to do my part for the planet, and landfills are full of plastics, including plastic straws, so if I can do a little more by drinking from a stainless steel straw, I am all in! If you’re concerned about the effect that plastic has on your body, or if you want to reduce your plastic footprint on the planet, then ECO AT HEART can help you start. And I love that it is reusable. It comes with a great little tool for cleaning it because no one wants gunk in their straws!
Recipes: It comes with a free eBook that includes 25 smoothie recipes, which is great!
Dishwasher safe: Okay, truth be told, my favorite part is that these are dishwasher safe. I am lazy, so I don’t want to hand wash straws. These are BPA free, won’t rust or bend, and are highly polished and perfectly straight.
In addition they or odorless and tasteless. I love that my kids can’t ruin them by chewing on them they way they do plastic straws. I like that they are great for cold drinks, just don’t try and use them for hot, they are made from steel, so they will get hot!
Now let’s get back to this shake… oh man.
Like I was saying, I used a homemade ice cream that was pumpkin pie flavored, but I realize not everyone has a batch of homemade pumpkin pie ice cream in their freezer, so I just HAD to make another one. I mean, I sacrificed for you guys! And after several attempts (recipe testing at its tastiest) I found a great combination of ingredients, and that is what I am going to share!
