10 Jalapeno Recipes you don’t want to live another moment without. Great flavor and a little heat.
You guys, I never liked jalapenos until I was an adult. I remember the first time I ate one and thought, “Wow this is actually pretty good.” It was on top of some nachos. And now I am obsessed. I love hot peppers. But I love them pickled.
However, I am a little weary of them because once I was cutting a jalapeno without gloves and ended up with some of that capacian (sp?) oil under my finger nails. Ouch. Oh the pain. I literally considered an emergency room visit, and tried every single trick in the proverbial Google book. Flour, milk, cream, salt, lavender oil. Eventually the pain died down enough to sleep, but I can’t say for sure what did it. So my advice is that while jalapenos are usually mild enough that you won’t experience this, occasionally you hit one that has vengeance in it, and you don’t want to experience that pain. So WEAR GLOVES!
