Black Cherry Dragonfruit Mocktail with Mint, Blackberry, and Lime: Fresh, fruity, flavorful! This mocktail is one of a kind, and so delicious you will want to make it for every special occasion, and even for the everyday.
On weekends, I love to spend a little time with my family and do something special. One of our favorite things, that my kids picked up from my sister, is doing “Restaurant Night” at home. It is actually just a night when we eat up leftovers, but we make it seem like we are at a restaurant.
We make a menu of all the leftovers that need to be eaten, and write out fancy descriptions. Then I play server (not exactly a new role), and take their orders. Of course, we always start with drink orders, and to make it more than just leftovers night, we like to have a drink “special”.
The drink special on the menu this week is this family friendly, Black Cherry Dragonfruit Mocktail with Blackberry, Lime, and Mint! I am a huge fan of lime and mint in my drinks, and when I saw the Aquafina Sparkling Black Cherry Dragonfruit 8 pack at Target, I knew I had to create something delicious with it.
If black cherries had been in season, I would have used them instead of blackberries, but macerating some blackberries, and adding muddled mint, a simple syrup, and lime juice ended up being so amazing, I am not sure I will need to try it with black cherries!
The Aquafina Sparkling drinks have 0 calories, 0 sugar, and 0 artificial flavors, so it is a great base to start with, and has a nice subtle flavor that is complimented perfectly by the fresh fruits and herbs. Just this year, Aquafina Sparkling launched a reformulated, with zero calories, zero sugar, and zero artificial preservatives– and introduced 2 new flavors in an 8 pack option: Mango Pineapple and Black Cherry Dragonfruit. Obviously I chose the later. And it is awesome.
Anyway, back to our Restaurant Night…
We love to make this yummy drink, we do toasts and cheers! And we get the fridge cleaned out.
It is basically a party, and sometimes it involves singing into whisks! But not usually. Which the whole family is grateful for because I basically have the worst voice in the world. But at least I have good taste.
So here is how to make this simple, delicious, refreshing beverage that is perfect for parties, Restaurant Nights, or just for fun.
Start by making a simple syrup of water and sugar, and pour it over some ice.
Then juice a couple limes and pour that juice on in. I used my and got all the juice out in a jiffy.
Then muddle a few mint leaves, and add them into the pitcher. I didn’t have abut I really need to get one because I love herbs in my drinks.
Then chop up some blackberries, and add them to the pitcher as well.
Then stir it all up!
Now you get to add the Aquafina Sparkling Black Cherry and Dragonfruit.
So pour it on into the pitcher.
Stir it again and serve.
