Caesar Chicken Bake

If you love the bold, creamy flavor of Caesar salad but want something warm, cozy, and dinner-worthy, this Caesar Chicken Bake is about to become your new favorite weeknight recipe.

It takes everything you love about a classic Caesar — garlicky dressing, crunchy croutons, salty parmesan — and turns it into a simple baked chicken dish that’s rich, comforting, and incredibly easy to throw together. Perfect for busy moms and hungry families. Serve with Tossed Green Salad and Air Fryer Asparagus.

I am obsessed with this recipe. The best part? It uses just a handful of ingredients:

  • Chicken breasts
  • A bottle of Caesar dressing
  • Sour cream
  • Croutons
  • Butter
  • Parmesan cheese and provolone cheese

That’s it. Minimal prep, big flavor.

Why You’ll Love This Caesar Chicken Bake

  • Only a few main ingredients
  • Family-friendly and picky eater approved
  • Perfect for busy weeknights
  • Great served over rice, pasta, or with roasted veggies
  • Minimal cleanup

It’s creamy, crispy on top, and packed with savory parmesan flavor.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup bottled Caesar dressing of choice
  • 1/4 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups croutons
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 6 slices provolone cheese

Optional: fresh cracked pepper, chopped parsley for garnish

How to Make Caesar Chicken Bake

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F. Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

Step 2: Layer the Chicken

Place the chicken breasts in a single layer in the prepared baking dish. If they are very thick, you can lightly pound them for even cooking.

Step 3: Mix up Dressing Coating

Pour the Caesar dressing, sour cream, and parmesan into a bowl, stir to combine. Then evenly spread over the chicken, making sure each piece is fully coated.

Step 4: Prepare the Crunchy Topping

  • Crush croutons
  • Toss the croutons with melted butter.

Sprinkle the buttery crouton mixture evenly over the chicken.

Step 5: Add Cheese

Top everything with provolone cheese for extra flavor and that golden, cheesy finish.

Step 6: Bake

Bake uncovered for 18–24 minutes, or until:

  • The chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F
  • The topping is golden and crispy

If the croutons start browning too quickly, loosely tent with foil.

Serving Suggestions

This Caesar Chicken Bake is incredibly versatile. Serve it:

  • Over buttered pasta
  • With steamed rice
  • Alongside roasted broccoli or asparagus
  • With a simple green salad
  • With garlic bread for extra indulgence

It also reheats beautifully, making it great for leftovers or meal prep.

Tips for Success

  • Use freshly grated parmesan for the best melt and flavor.
  • Don’t skip the butter. It’s what makes the crouton topping rich and golden.
  • Pound thick chicken breasts so they cook evenly. Or cut them into cutlets that are thin and even.
  • Want extra flavor? Add a sprinkle of garlic powder or Italian seasoning before baking.

Make It Your Own

  • Add shredded mozzarella for extra cheesiness.

  • Add cooked bacon crumbles before baking.
  • Swap chicken breasts for chicken thighs if you prefer dark meat.
