If your water is too hot, you can kill it. If the water isn’t warm enough, then it won’t activate and do its job.
And then there is the wait time for rising. Yeast is great, but it takes extra work.
And it isn’t the friend of the busy mom. So let’s skip it!
2. No Yeast Pizza Dough Is Quicker.
When using yeast, you have to allow time for the dough to rise. That is not the case with no yeast pizza dough. Yay!

I am not saying to ever not make a pizza dough recipe with yeast ever again. I love my Pizza Dough recipe that uses yeast, but there is a time and place for everything, emphasis on time.
Sometimes you just don’t have the time or patience to sit and let the dough rise. That is why this pizza dough recipe with no yeast is a life saver.
How Do I make Pizza Dough Without Yeast?
It is a lot like regular pizza dough, minus dealing with the yeast and waiting for dough to rise.
We still want the dough to rise. We just don’t have to wait. So I used another leavening agent, baking powder. This helps you get the consistency you want, the rise, the beautiful air bubbles that make it light and give it the right chew, but no waiting.
Not too crazy of a concept, right? Think about it. Some breads use yeast, while other breads use baking powder.
Steps For This Recipe:
- While oven is preheating, line baking sheet with parchment paper or preheat pizza stone and brush with oil.
- Combine dry ingredients and gradually add butter and liquids, and knead.
- Roll dough on floured surface.
- Transfer dough to pan or stone and add sauce and cheese, and toppings of choice.
- Bake 10-12 minutes.

This dough is easy but as always, here are some tips and tricks that I think you will find helpful. So take a moment and see what I have to say.
Tip 1: Make Sure Your Dough Is The Right Consistency.
Why Is My Pizza Dough Sticky?
You want your dough to be easy to work with. It should not be crumbly or sticky.
Although I have tried and tested this recipe, it is not uncommon when working with pizza dough that you may have to add a little more liquid or flour than what the recipe calls for. It’s just the nature of the beast.
Each time is a little bit different.
Follow the recipe and then add flour or liquid depending on the consistency, if needed.
If dough is sticky add a little more flour. Just a couple teaspoons at a time.
If dough is crumbly add more liquid, a couple teaspoons at at time.
Tip 2: Hands And Surface Should Be Floured.
When ready to roll out the dough, the surface should have a dusting of flour on it, as well as you hands. Otherwise dough will stick to the surface and your hands.
Tip 3: Busy? Make Pizza Dough Ahead Of Time.
Want pizza tomorrow night, but know you are going to be really busy? Take the pressure off and make the dough the night before.
Store pizza dough in an air tight container in the fridge.
How Long Does No-Yeast Pizza Dough Last? The raw pizza dough will last up to 24 hours in the fridge.
Once dough is baked into pizza, the pizza can be covered and stored in an air tight container for up to 3 days.

No Yeast Pizza Dough
Ingredients
- 2 cups all purpose flour spooned
- ¼ cup cornmeal
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter room temperature
- 1 Tbs olive oil
Toppings:
- 1 Tbs olive oil
- ½ tsp garlic salt
- Pizza sauce
- Mozzarella cheese
- Other toppings of choice
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
- Line baking sheet with parchment paper, or preheat pizza stone and brush with oil.
- In large mixing bowl combine flour, cornmeal, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder.
- Stir until combined. Then gradually add milk, softened butter, and olive oil.
- Mix on low speed with a dough hook until a ball of dough forms. Or knead with hands until you reach a good consistency. (You want a consistency that is sticky but comes away from the sides of the mixing bowl cleanly)
- Flour your work surface, a rolling pin, and your hands.
- Remove dough from the mixing bowl, and pat down with flour,
- Using a roll pin, roll dough out to about ¼ inch thickness and place on your baking sheet or pizza stone.
- Miz together olive oil and garlic salt, and brush over the crust for extra flavor (optional)
- Spread pizza sauce over crust, leaving a lip. Add cheese and other toppings.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until cheese is melted, andcrust is a golden brown.
- Remove from oven, let cool slightly and enjoy!
