Philly Cheesesteak Sliders:

Slow roasted, artisan-quality roast beef, creamy provolone cheese, delicious onions and peppers, all inside a roll topped with a delicious buttery sauce that takes these over the top and makes them the perfect picnic lunch option!

Philly cheesesteaks are a picnic favorite around here, especially when I make these easier to eat sliders. They offer a lot of flavor without a ton of prep work. In fact, these can easily be put together while packing the car and rounding up the kid’s shoes. But no one has to know how easy they are because the quality and taste is phenomenal.

What is on a traditional Philly cheese steak?

A traditional Philly cheese steak uses beef, cheese, onions, and peppers. And this cheesesteak slider is no exception. But we are swaying from tradition a little to bring you a picnic option that is easy to make, absolutely tasty, and just as good as the original, but half the work!
  • Instead of ribeye, we use Bistro Favorites 100% Natural Roast Beef
  • Instead of Cheese Whiz we use provolone slices
  • Instead of a Hoagie, we use a Hawaiian sweet roll

This picnic favorite offers the same reminiscent flavors of a traditional Philly cheese steak, but none of the hassle.

What cut of meat is best for Philly cheese steak?

Traditionally, a Philly Cheesesteak is made with thinly sliced ribeye. But… let’s be honest here, ribeye steaks tend to be a bit pricey. And who has time to do all that thin slicing? So for this recipe I am using a total shortcut, that gives you artisan quality food at home without a huge price tag and absolutely no work!

What is my secret?

The amazing new Bistro Favorites 100% Natural Sliced meats Peppered Beef or Roast Beef. This is hand carved, thinly sliced, made in small batches with hand rubbed spices, perfection!

With this roast beef you really get to taste the flavors because Bistro Favorites 100% Natural sliced meats are minimally processed and have no artificial ingredients. Which means, I get to have a super tasty shortcut to a classic favorite sandwich without sacrificing quality or flavor. All the beef, none of the hassle.

All the ingredients you need for Philly cheesesteak sliders

And roast beef is not the only option in the Bistro Favorites line, they have a seriously tasty Uncured Peppered Beef, which is also amazing in this recipe.  Delicious Rotisserie Seasoned Turkey Breast, and a classic Black Forest Ham. All of which have the same artisan quality!

We are talking cuts of whole muscle meats crafted in small batches in payment paper lined baskets. Then when you consider they are hand-rubbed with spices and seasonings and naturally hardwood smoked, it is no wonder they are the perfect choice for all your sliced meat needs! Did I mention they are all natural with no nitrates or nitrates added? I didn’t? Well they are! Making them the obvious choice for this sandwich.

What cheese is best for Philly Cheese Steak?

The most commonly used cheeses or cheese products for Philly cheesesteak are: American cheese, Cheez Whiz, and Provolone.
Because I like things that are natural, and without a bunch of junk in them, these Philly cheese steak sliders use Provolone! It still gives them that creamy, cheesy, delicious flavor you want, but isn’t as messy, or as processed. But if you want these to be extra cheesy, throw in a little cheese whiz!

How do you make Philly cheese steak sliders?

Philly cheese steak sliders are so simple to make:
  1. Quick saute your onions and peppers so they are sweet and ready to be added to your sandwich.
  2. Cut your Hawaiian sweet rolls horizontally, and remove the tops.
  3. Layer that premium sliced meat: Bistro Favorites 100% Natural Uncured Peppered Beef or Roast Beef
  4. Add your onion and pepper mix.
  5. Top with provolone cheese and the top half of the rolls.
  6. Mix up your butter sauce, and brush it over the tops.
  7. Bake until cheese is melty.
  8. Enjoy!

Going to make two pans — one for dinner tonight and one to freeze and cook later. Think that will work?
