Quick and easy baked Stromboli stuffed with pepperoni, flavorful cheeses, and Mezzetta Mild Pepper Rings Peperocini.
Ok…food blogger confession here. A few years ago I did not know what Stromboli was. That is even more shocking when you hear that my Dad used to live in Italy, and I grew up on a diet that was 80% Italian.
Then, my sweet neighbor came over one day, and we were chatting, and she said she had to hurry home to get her Stromboli in the oven. I asked her what that was, and she brought me a slice. It was fantastic.
Guys that was 3 years ago!! And I made my first one this week. And guess what else? My kids and hubby LOVED it. Like raved about it, told me how amazing it was, how they wanted it again and again.
Lucky for me, it was seriously easy to make, and with pepperoni, two kinds of cheese, and Mezzetta Mild Pepper Rings, it is flavor packed and delicious. Something the WHOLE family loved.
You know I have a picky eater, so I struggle to find quick, easy meals that he will eat. And he came in my room after dinner and gave me a hug. He said, “Thanks for dinner Mom! I actually liked that one. “
High praise from that one.
I was super worried he would not even try it because of the peppers in it, but he did, and the flavor they added actually HELPED! Amazing. You have no idea how happy this makes me.
Anyway, it is summer at our house, and while I love my four children dearly, trying to work from home with all of them in the house all day means that by dinner time my patience is usually shot.
I need something that can help spice up dinner time without the work, and still provide a relaxing fun summer at home. I want to enjoy my summer full of picnics, pool time, walks in the evening, and game nights. I don’t want to eat out every night, or slave away in the kitchen. But I also want food to taste great.
This Stromboli fits the bill!
And the flavors rock. I particularly love the flavor the pepper rings bring to it. Mezzetta harvests the peppers at the peak of ripeness from local farmers, and uses their proprietary brines to really bring delicious flavors to the already yummy peppers! Combine that with some spicy pepperoni, and flavorful cheeses, and a flaky, sweet breading, and it is awesome.
This Stromboli tastes good both hot and cold, which means you serve it hot for dinner, or you can make it ahead to take to a picnic, like a better version of a sandwich.
If you want to enjoy it for a picnic, be sure to download this coupon to save $5.00 when they spend $25.00 on any Dixie® Plates, Dixie Ultra® Plates and Bowls, Vanity Fair® Everyday Design Collection, Mezzetta® Peppers and Olives, Banana Boat® sun care product 3 oz. or larger (excludes lip balm & trial sizes) and Wet Ones® Wipes. All of which would be awesome for picnicking!
