Kumquat Salad Dressing
A zesty, tasty, kumquat dressing! Perfect for a kale salad. I love these Superfoods Green Detox Salad or Navel Orange And Kale Salad, and while the dressings on those salads are awesome, this kumquat salad dressing is absolutely delicious.
Remember in this video how I showed you guys just how easy it is to make your own salad dressing? This is one of my all time favorites. I do not get kumquats very often, they are kind of hard to find in Utah, but they are sooooo good! I lived in San Diego for a while, and ate them a lot. Then moved and didn’t have them for a few years. My sister used to live in CA, and whenever I would visit I would eat all the kumquats off her tree! It is one of my favorite citrus fruits, and I grew up eating it a lot. So I had fun making this dressing.
Homemade salad dressing is the best, this Balsamic Vinaigrette, Tzatziki Ranch Dressing, and Tomatillo Dressing are way better than store bought versions.
How to Make Salad Dressing
When it comes to kumquats, you don’t peel them. The outer skin is sweet, and the interior is sour and tangy! Which makes it the perfect citrus fruit for a salad dressing. And particularly good for a dressing that goes on a bitter green like Kale! I am obsessed with this dressing. And it is SO EASY to make!
And this dressing is pretty too! Isn’t it so pretty? I love that bright orange color. And the flavor matches the intensity of color. Pretty food also tastes better. Haha!
I will be sharing a salad early next week that is amazing with this dressing. It is my Kumquat and Kale Power Salad and it is packed full of deliciousness, and topped with this killer dressing. But until then, make this dressing and eat it on everything. It takes 5 minutes in a blender, and stores in the fridge in an airtight container for up to a week!
Let’s get to this delicious-ness now! Huh?

I am not sure as I have never tried. But I would love to know how it works out. I would assume you can.

Delicious creative salad dressing. Great use for a few kumquats. I think this would make a lovely gift if you had a bumper crop of fruit. I prefer a more zingy dressing so I added a spoon of Dijon, and salt /pepper. . I used a combo of pistachio and almond oils. Thank you I would not freeze the salad dressing but instead freeze extra fruit and make the dressing fresh.
