Tzatziki Ranch Dressing
Tzatziki Ranch Dressing blends two great tastes into one flavorful dressing recipe.
Tzatziki sauce is partnered with classic ranch seasoning to make a top notch tzaziki dressing recipe that can elevate your most basic dish.
Serve with Grilled Greek Chicken, or as a dipping sauce for these Greek Chicken Gyros.
Toss Tzatziki Ranch Dressing into a salad or use it as a topping on a rice bowl, chicken, etc. This versatile tzatziki sauce is easy to make and is a crowd pleaser for both ranch dressing fans as well as Mediterranean food enthusiasts.
What I love about this dressing is that is checks all the boxes for me. It’s fast to make, it can dress up a basic salad, or when in a pinch I can grill up a simple chicken or steak and add it to that. It is a great recipe for when you are short on time but really want to invite flavor into your dish.
There is also just something so nice about homemade dressings, like this Balsamic Vinaigrette or 5 Minute Honey Mustard Vinaigrette.
How To Cut Calories Using Ranch?
I really love ranch dressing and I also love, love tzatziki sauce. That is why I am so excited about this dressing. It marries two great favorites into the perfect sauce.
Now my recommendation is just to enjoy this dressing and not worry about the calories. However, I realize sometimes we are trying to be good and we have to be more calorie conscious at times than others.
There are two ways to conquer the calorie dilemma with this dressing or with ranch dressing in general. One way is to adhere to the school of thought, everything in moderation. Keeping this in mind, you can be conscious of the amount of dressing you use and choose to be deliberate with choosing a minimal amount as a topping to your dish.
This Tzatziki Ranch Dressing provides a great zest of flavor, resulting in you not needing loads of dressing to enjoy the taste.
The other way to be calorie conscious is to substitute higher calorie ingredients with similar lower calorie ingredients.
The great news with this dressing is that because it is a Greek inspired dressing it already uses Greek yogurt, which is a lower calorie, healthier option, than what is used in most traditional ranch dressings.
Many traditional ranch dressings will contain higher calorie ingredients like buttermilk, sour cream, and mayo. There are alternative options to these staples.
Lower Calorie Ranch Ingredient Options:
- Replace Buttermilk with Milk
- Light Mayo
- Light Sour Cream
- Greek Yogurt
I personally love using Greek yogurt as a substitution for sour cream because not only does it contain less fat and fewer calories, it has more protein. More protein equals feeling fuller longer and that is one of the many things I love about this Ranch Tzatziki Dressing recipe.
Is Low Fat Yogurt Better Than Whole Yogurt?
I love whole yogurt because it gives a much creamier, richer flavor. Using Greek yogurt in this dish offers the perfect consistency and flavor for this dressing.
Now from a health stand point is low fat yogurt better than whole? Well there is some debate on this topic.
It depends on what you are trying to accomplish. If you are only concerned about calorie count, then you might choose low fat yogurt.
If you are concerned about additional sweeteners, depending on the brand, you may want whole yogurt then. Because whole yogurt offers a richer flavor, many whole yogurts contain less sweeteners.
When you are on a strict, low calorie diet, one important thing is not to waste calories.
It’s okay to have higher calorie items as long as those items aren’t empty calories. If the higher calorie option is going to sustain you for the day and keep you full longer than the low calorie option, then the higher calorie option may be a better choice.
Many are now arguing that whole yogurt is better than low fat because even though it may have a higher calorie count, it will sustain you longer than low fat yogurt. Plus, the richness in flavor may minimize the desire for additional toppings.
I like the thickness and taste of Greek yogurt. It provides a great zing of taste for this dressing recipe.
Is Tzatziki Ranch Dressing Keto?
Yes this dressing is keto friendly. It consists of cucumber, which is a great option for keto, spices, lemon juice, and Greek yogurt.
Greek yogurt is high in protein. While it does contain some carbs, it can be included in a keto diet.
Although this recipe contains yogurt that is keto friendly, many yogurts are very high in carbs. The fruit flavored yogurts tend to be very high in carbs, making them not keto friendly.
When looking for keto friendly foods you want high fat, low in carbohydrates food options.

What Pairs Nicely With Ranch Tzatziki Dressing?
So many things pair nicely with this dressing.
This dressing can be partnered with so many dishes.
However, if you want a more traditional tzatziki sauce or dressing without the infused ranch flavor, you can make this traditional tzaziki sauce without the ranch seasoning.
The tzatziki sauce itself is a great dressing on its own.
However, I love the combination of the ranch flavor with this sauce.
As the weather is getting nicer and you begin to crave getting out the grill, this Ranch Tzatziki Dressing would go great with so many grilling favorites.
Try Greek Chicken Skewers with Tzatziki Dipping Sauce and sub out the basic Tzatziki sauce for some Ranch Tzatziki Dressing. You will love the added dimension of the ranch flavor.
I can’t wait for you to try this Ranch Tzatziki Dressing. It has a great versatile flavor that can elevate a salad, basic chicken, vegetables, or steak dish in just minutes.
