Avocados From Mexico and Glad Press’n Seal make the perfect pair for any fiesta!
I love any excuse for a party, especially if the party involves delicious food, and in my book nothing tastes better than Avocados From Mexico, used in guacamole. Guacamole is such a fun food to customize to your flavor preferences, so this year, for Cinco de Mayo, we are serving our Guacamole bar style, where we have the base, and then plenty of fun and flavorful mix-ins to make it your own.
I went to Walmart and got everything I needed to make the perfect delish dish!

Prepping Your Guacamole Bar
The key to a good guacamole bar is having a lot of fun mix-in options. From sweet to savory, mild to hot. This means offering fruits like mangos, pineapple, and blueberries, as well as traditional things found in guacamole like cilantro, onions, and tomatoes. Then add lots of fun extras.
Keep in mind, no one is going to have time to prep everything right before the party. So don’t try to do that, instead, wash, chop, and portion out your mix-ins right into the containers you plan to serve them in, then keep them fresh by using Glad Press’n Seal. Even your Avocados From Mexico.
Avocados From Mexico and Glad Press’n Seal can work together to make and save your delish dish so it is ready when you are!
Glad Press’n Seal helps keep your avocados fresher 3x longer, and can help keep all your mix-ins fresh longer with an airtight and leak proof seal. It is such a great seal, you can even stack your containers on top of one another in the fridge!
Guacamole Bar Mix-Ins
Avocado Base:
- The star of your guacamole bar is your mashed avocados. Avocados are delicious, always in season and always worth it!
- I love using Avocados From Mexico because they are heart healthy, creamy and delicious, and always in season. They are my favorite source of good fat and are super nutrient dense. And I love that they are ready when I am. I picked some up from Walmart, and they were just about ripe, making them perfect for our Cinco de Mayo party.
- Create a guacamole base by mashing your Avocados From Mexico with a fork, leaving some larger chunks for variety and texture. You will want a heaping bowl full.
- Then cover with Glad Press’n Seal and start working on your mix-ins.
Tip: Don’t use something else for keeping those avocados fresh, Glad Press’n Seal is superior in locking in the freshness and extending the life of your Avocados From Mexico. (;
Mix-Ins:
Wash, chop, and cover all of your mix-ins pre-party with Glad Press’n Seal. I suggest Glad Press’n Seal over aluminum foil because it locks in freshness with the airtight seal. Glad Press’n Seal seals to almost any surface using Griptex technology to seal to multiple surfaces and to itself, giving you airtight food protection you can count on.
Fruits – My favorite fruits to mix into guacamole include berries, mangos, and pineapple. When preparing your fruits, be sure to chop them fairly uniform and small. This is for a dip, and you don’t want too large of chunks.
Peppers – Depending on your party crowd, you may want a variety of sweet and spicy peppers available. I love using colorful bell peppers to add variety in color and texture in my guacamole, but also offering jalapeños and serranos can be nice for those that want a spicier dish.
Meats and Cheeses– A variety of different meats and cheeses can be used. My go to options are bacon bits, crumbled feta cheese, and cheddar cheese. But you can add whatever strikes your fancy. Remember, Avocados From Mexico are creamy and subtle in flavor, so adding a salty meat or cheese can really enhance the overall flavor of the guacamole.
Herbs and Seasonings– Cilantro, garlic, salt, and pepper are my go to’s in this category, but you could try other fresh herbs like mint, basil, or even something with a stronger flavor profile like rosemary. Just remember to chop those herbs fine!
Other – Chop up other veggies and fruits of choice, like tomatoes, corn kernels, etc. What do you like in your guacamole? That is what you should include in your guacamole bar.
Limes- No matter what, add the limes. A squeeze of lemon or lime juice can help keep your guacamole from browning while exposed to oxygen. Obviously, if it is going to sit for a while use Glad Press’n Seal to create that airtight seal to keep it from browning. It is going to be far better results than using aluminum foil, so keep this in mind. And better than regular plastic wrap as Glad Press’n Seal seals 10X tighter than plastic wrap!
The Perfect Chip
The next step to make this guac party possible is to add a few different options of chips to experiment with all the different types of guac!
Here are some ideas for some tortilla chips you could try: there is corn, flour, black bean, lime infused, avocado, Doritos or even opt for a pita chip!
Some might even like to dip a potato chip in their guac, get as loco as you like! It’s your party!
Party Time!
When it is time to party, set out your guacamole bar with individual portion sized bowls, so everyone can mix up their own personal guacamole flavor of choice.
Remove the Glad Press’n Seal cover right before the party starts, and set it aside so you can recover any leftovers after the party ends.
I love sharing plenty of dipping options too. We love black bean chips, regular tortilla chips, etc. So choose a variety of chips to serve with the guacamole bar to get the best results. I picked up several kinds right from Walmart when I was shopping for the rest of my ingredients.
Clean up:
Cleaning up your guacamole bar is a breeze because you simply recover each of the dishes, and return them to your fridge.
The tight seal makes stacking easy, and any leftover items, like avocado halves, can quickly and easily be wrapped in Glad Press’n Seal and popped into the fridge. Eazy Peazy!
Avocados From Mexico and Glad Press’n Seal make the perfect pair for any of these creations.
