How to Make Cottage Cheese Smoothie Bowls
These cottage cheese smoothie bowls are so easy to make.
Step One: Prep Ingredients
Gather all of your ingredients together, and put them in your blender.

Step Two: Blend
Use a high powered blender, and blend your ingredients together. You may not need any of your liquid, but feel free to add it a little at a time to help it blend and help you achieve the consistency you want.
Step Three: Top with your favorite toppings
Once your smoothie is blended, you will use a rubber spatula to divide it out between two bowls, and then top it with your favorite toppings. I love fresh fruit chunks, chia seeds, granola, and more.

Topping Ideas
When it comes to topping your smoothie bowl the sky is the limit, so get creative, have fun and enjoy!
- Fresh Fruit: While you already have fruit in the smoothie, it never hurts to add more. I love the pops of color and freshness fresh fruit on top adds to this smoothie bowl. Try: kiwi, berries, banana, mango, and more.
- Nuts: A sprinkle of chopped up nuts can add even more protein to your cottage cheese smoothie bowl, and crunch. We love the added texture.
- Coconut or Cacao: Sprinkle your smoothie bowl with a handful of toasted coconut flakes or cacao nibs for a delightful sweet topping.
- Seeds: Smoothie bowls are already nutritious, but boost the nutritional value even more with: Chia seeds, flaxseeds, pumpkin seeds, or sunflower seeds. They add crunch and provide essential omega-3 fatty acids and fiber.
- Granola: A classic topping, and one that comes in a variety of flavors and textures.
- Nut Butter: Warm a spoonful up a little, and drizzle it over the top of your smoothie bowl. Almond butter is a great addition to this particular bowl.
- Superfoods: Sprinkle in a superfood like goji berries, açai powder, or maca powder for added nutrients and antioxidants.
- Yogurt: Swirl in a spoonful of Greek yogurt for a tangy contrast and a creamy texture that complements the cottage cheese smoothie base.
- Edible Flowers: Garnish your smoothie bowl with edible flowers like pansies, nasturtiums, or lavender blossoms.
- Dark Chocolate: Shave or grate bittersweet dark chocolate over your smoothie bowl, it pairs perfectly with the berries.
- Honey: Drizzle some pure honey over your smoothie bowl toppings for a delicious finish.
Toppings are NOT just for taste but also for presentation. Have so much fun experimenting with different combinations, textures, and flavors to find what you like best, and present it in a beautiful way.
Tips and Tricks
Making this recipe is Eazy Peazy, but here are a few tips and tricks to get great results every time:
- Use A High Powered Blender: It makes a huge difference. Give it time to do its job.
- Add liquid slowly: Or not at all, you don’t need a lot, depends on your blender and how juicy the fruit is, but you don’t want to add too much or it will ruin the consistency.
- Have toppings ready: Because your smoothie bowl uses frozen fruits, you don’t want it to start melting, so have your toppings ready before blending.
- Make it pretty: Use the added toppings to make it so fun, and beautiful. You eat with your eyes first, so make it a pretty sight to see.
